This interview was based in the city of Sulemany with Zhin magazine. It was my first interview after a long silence of 2 years. We decided to go with this media as it was a pro women’s magazine supported by a Danish NGO. The interview was focused on female empowerment and acknowledging and highlighting the Kurdish women that are now active in media. We had a bold conversation about the important role of women in a male dominant society. It is the first magazine that I had such a good experience with, they were very professional and respected my opinions and values as an artist, a skill that I hope goes on to all media professionals.

As a young woman breaking down the barrier in my region hasn't been easy and in my case, the support of feminist colleagues and friends were vital to my survival. My definition of feminism, that I believe I share with a lot of my friends and colleges, is social, political, and economic equal rights, and opportunities for men and women.

We decided to go with this media as it was a pro women’s magazine supported by a Danish NGO. The interview was focused on female empowerment and acknowledging and highlighting the Kurdish women that are now active in media. We had a bold conversation about the important role of women in a male dominant society. As a young woman breaking down the barrier in my region hasn't been easy and in my case, the support of feminist colleagues and friends were vital to my survival. My definition of feminism, that I believe I share with a lot of my friends and colleges, is social, political, and economic equal rights, and opportunities for men and women.
